My new music video i’ve made inspired by my present readings about new vaccines, DNA and process of synthesizing a protein. mRNA translation: Most of the vaccines under development introduce the “spike” protein found on the surface of the virus. They train the immune system to recognize this protein and attack in case of infection. Both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines today depend on a technology never before used in a commercial vaccine called mRNA, or messenger ribonucleic acid. The mRNA vaccines direct the machinery of human cells to manufacture that spike protein. In our DNA Ribosomes are responsible for reading the message and then synthesizing proteins. Since ribosomes can’t enter the nucleus this creates a serious problem. How does the message contained in DNA reach the ribosome whenever the two components can never come in contact? The answer to this is the smaller mRNA molecule. The ‘m’ in mRNA stands for messenger. mRNA is important while it carries the message coded by our DNA to the ribosome. The ribosome can then read this message and produce protein in a process called translation.Ribosomes can make any kind of protein. It just depends what genetic message you feed in on the RNA.
